These fun and interactive card sorts have been designed to explore medical ethic issues linked to the science curriculum. They can be purchased on their own or as part of a discounted bundle. These card sorts are great for the full range of ability and are designed to help promote debate and discussion of these difficult topics. You can cut them out and put them into an envelope for students to sort or you can get them to cut, sort and stick them into their books. Failing that they can create a key or use highlighters and stick the information into their books. Whenever possible, I have linked in videos that are suitable for classroom use that cover both sides of the debate and can be previewed alongside our resources. These outstanding resources look at Britain’s involvement in the Slave Trade and its abolition in 1807. They have been bundled together and heavily discounted in order to give your exception value. This topic is part of a statutory collection that all UK schools are required to teach. It contains several mature themes that have been approached in a sensitive and careful way. However, I would not recommend, teaching this topic to Year 7 students. When purchased you will be able to download eight lessons with enough work to keep a class going for a similar number of weeks or more, depending upon your curriculum time. This beautifully illustrated market place activity on Native American beliefs is aimed at middle to upper ability students. The information slides for the market place activity look at their beliefs about the land, circles, clans, moieties, spiritualism and the spirit World and how they affected the way in which they lived their lives. This literacy mat can be printed off back to back in A3 colour and laminated to use with your students in lesson to help them structure their work using the correct sentence starters and connectives. The literacy mat also includes guidance on spelling, punctuation, structuring paragraphs using PEE and PEEL as well as the correct then, their and they’re. This is a must have resource for any humanities teacher. The idea of a ‘mat’ is UK idea where you stick or place a resource like this one on the desks of your students to help them structure their work and avoid common mistakes. This resource was created in partnership with Lesley Anne who also has her own TES shop so please check it out as well. Please note, it might be an idea to run this resource through your own US spell checker to avoid any common errors. E.g. we spell words like colour and neighbours slightly differently to you guys across the pond. I have posted this resource at a low price as I believe that it is a must have - give it and go and enjoy. It will impress your principle. In terms of PEE, I always get me students to structure their paragraphs using either PEE or PEEL which stands for Point - Examples - Explain - Link. What problems faced Henry VIII in 1525?

This fun and interactive lesson is designed to get help students understand the problems facing Henry VIII in 1525 and the chain of events that led to him breaking with Rome in 1533. Everything has been carefully differentiated and can be easily adapted for the full range of ability. This is one of my favourite lessons and there is enough to last a class 2/3 lessons can be used to make you sparkle and shine for Ofsted or an observation lesson. The first lesson begins with an introduction to Henry VIII’s problems. Students classify them either using the card sort or a printed off version of the diagram under the heads of money, power, religion, heir and personal problems. This is then consolidated with a thinking skills triangle priority task which is designed to help students which was he most important problem facing Henry. The next task gets students to predict what will happen next by getting them to write a speech suggesting how Henry could solve his problems. This is fully supported with writing frames and tasks. The second starts by looking at the chain of events that led Henry’s decision to break with Rome. This is consolidated with a heads and tails activity and a fully supported extended writing task. When you purchase this lesson you will be able to download a 30 slide PowerPoint Presentation and a single page Word document. The PowerPoint contains aims, objectives, differentiated outcomes, starters,plenaries, information slides, video links, historical sources, templates, diagrams , writing frames, tasks and activities.
